From July 5 to 7, 2024, the Party branch of Ningbo Haiyue Company organized a study tour to Xibaipo, the revolutionary holy site in Hebei Province, for a total of 20 participants, including Party members, probationary Party members, candidates for Party membership, and active applicants for Party membership. The event was themed “Studying History, Reflecting on the Present, and Practicing the Red Spirit,” during which participants revisited the revolutionary history on the eve of the Liberation War, gained a profound understanding of the Chinese Communist Party’s wise decision-making during a period of extraordinary hardship, and learned how land reform was carried out in Xibaipo, effectively mobilizing the masses, fostering democratic ideas, and enabling unified command of the Three Great Campaigns, ultimately leading to comprehensive victory.
On the morning of July 6, sunlight bathed Lijiagou in Pingshan County, Shijiazhuang, as Party members, filled with reverence, made their way to the former site of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee. There, one precious historical photograph after another seemed to transcend time and space, transporting the Party members back to the tumultuous years of 1948. During the Xibaipo period, the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, through its outstanding strategic planning, laid a solid foundation for the victory of the Liberation War and the founding of New China. Its united-front work was closely integrated with military command, expanded political initiative, and prepared for the convening of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, thereby laying the groundwork for a democratic republic and leaving an invaluable spiritual legacy in the history of the CPC’s united-front work among the people.
Subsequently, the Party members visited the Xibaipo Memorial Hall and the former site of the CPC Central Committee in Xibaipo. Xibaipo served as the last rural command post from which the Chinese Communist Party launched the final campaign to liberate the entire country. Within this small yet pivotal locale, the Party orchestrated the Three Great Campaigns, articulated the “Two Musts,” and contemplated the path of “marching to Beijing to take the exam,” thereby paving the way for the founding of New China. Here, the Party members profoundly experienced the deep bond between the Party and the people during the Xibaipo period, a bond that gave rise to the Xibaipo Spirit—the great spirit of the Chinese Communist Party.

At the historic site of the Second Plenary Session of the 7th CPC Central Committee, Party members braved the scorching sun to take a solemn oath, reaffirm their Party membership vows, and rekindle the fervent spirit of those red years.
Subsequently, the Party members’ learning journey continued unabated as they traveled to Zhengding County, where General Secretary Xi Jinping once worked, and visited Tayuanzhuang Village to gain a profound understanding of his deep commitment to serving the people and his pragmatic, hands-on work style. There, they witnessed firsthand the village’s tireless efforts in building a new socialist countryside and the prosperous life it has achieved, as well as the vibrant vitality it has demonstrated under the rural revitalization strategy.

That evening, the Party branch of Ningbo Haiyue Company convened a thematic meeting titled “Studying History to Reflect on the Present and Practicing the Red Spirit.” First, Comrade Li Mailang delivered an exposition on the spirit of Xi Jinping’s speech entitled “Working Together to Build a Better Home for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,” which was delivered at the SCO+ Summit in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. In his address, Xi Jinping proposed building a shared home characterized by unity and mutual trust, peace and tranquility, prosperity and development, good-neighborly friendship, and fairness and justice, thereby charting the course for jointly drawing up a new blueprint for the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Subsequently, Comrade Zhang Dongfang reflected on his experiences from last July’s study tour to Yan’an, profoundly articulating the Yan’an Spirit of relying on the masses, striving through hardship, and achieving self-reliance. Drawing on his own work, Comrade Liu Ajie shared his understanding of the Yan’an Spirit and the progress he has made over the past two years. Comrade Le Qianqian then conveyed the Xibaipo Spirit—characterized by humility and prudence, hard struggle, seeking truth from facts, and wholehearted service to the people—and provided a detailed explanation of its specific connotations: the pioneering and enterprising spirit of daring to fight and daring to win; and the democratic spirit of steadfastly relying on the masses and upholding unity and solidarity. Comrade Ye Hui described the insights gained from studying the Xibaipo Spirit, and, in light of that day’s on-site learning and his own practical work, emphasized the importance of elevating one’s ideological stance, broadening one’s horizons, and adopting a more strategic perspective when approaching problems at work.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Comrade Zhang Leiming, Secretary of the Party Branch, delivered a summary. He emphasized that the Xibaipo Spirit is a precious legacy forged by the Communist Party of China through its revolutionary practice; the land reform in Xibaipo fully demonstrated the tremendous power of the masses and underscored the fundamental truth that an outstanding organization and outstanding leading cadres can only thrive with the support of the people. Moving forward, we must steadfastly uphold the mass line, follow the path of democracy, unite all forces, and, in accordance with the principle of seeking truth from facts, ensure that every task is effectively implemented and carried out at all levels, particularly among Party members and cadres, thereby fully leveraging the leading role of each Party member.
This visit to Xibaipo was not only a profound lesson in revolutionary history but also a spiritual cleansing and a reorientation of our thinking. The Party branch of Ningbo Haiyue Company is committed to faithfully inheriting and carrying forward the revolutionary spirit of Xibaipo, dedicating ourselves with unwavering enthusiasm to the journey of high-quality enterprise development. We will remain true to our mission, strive unremittingly, and contribute our strength to realizing the grand blueprint for national rejuvenation.
