[Today in Zhenhai] The Haiyue Distributed Photovoltaic Project Has Been Connected to the Grid and Started Generating Power, with an Estimated Annual Output of 320,000 kWh and an Annual Carbon Emission Reduction of 12.9 Tons.

This newspaper reports (by reporter Zhang Chaoliang and correspondents Qiu Hui and Le Qianqian): “We are actively responding to the call of national policies and, through exploration and practical application, leveraging green electricity to support our company’s own sustainable development.” Recently, the distributed photovoltaic project of Ningbo Haiyue Electrical Appliance Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a company in Luotuo Subdistrict, began generating power and connecting to the grid. According to Zhang Leiming, Chairman of Ningbo Haiyue, under the guidance of the national goals of peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality, China’s new-energy industry is now poised for new opportunities for development.

In February 2023, Ningbo Haiyue entered into a cooperation agreement with Ningbo XinYi Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a local enterprise in our district, for the construction of the Ningbo Haiyue distributed photovoltaic project. Under the terms of the agreement, XinYi Energy Technology will invest in the photovoltaic power generation system, while Ningbo Haiyue will provide the factory roof and the grid-connection cabinet for the PV system. Starting in mid-May 2023, XinYi Energy’s installation team carried out the work over a two-week period, successfully completing the installation of the photovoltaic equipment and system on the 4,500-square-meter roof of Ningbo Haiyue’s factory building.

In the 2023 Ningbo City Catalog of Recommended High-Quality Products, six products—including photovoltaic grid-connection cabinets—were listed, with Ningbo Haiyue Photovoltaic Equipment among them. “Through this project, we will also be able to progressively upgrade the performance of our independently developed photovoltaic grid-connection cabinets,” said Chen Xuebo, an engineer in the Technical Department at Ningbo Haiyue.

Ningbo Haiyue, which has been developing on Camel Street for nearly 20 years, has consistently focused on the electrical industry. In the first five months of 2023, Ningbo Haiyue achieved an output value exceeding RMB 100 million, a year-on-year increase of 11%.

“A reliable power supply can provide strong support for Ningbo Haiyue’s production. The Ningbo Haiyue distributed photovoltaic project is expected to generate 320,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, resulting in an annual carbon emission reduction of 12.9 metric tons,” said Zhang Leiming. He added that, once the project is commissioned, it will help alleviate, to a certain extent, the strain on daytime peak electricity demand at Ningbo Haiyue, while also serving as a key initiative for the company to achieve low-carbon, environmentally friendly power consumption, actively participate in energy conservation and emissions reduction, and promote green development.
